Academic integrity at doctoral level: the influence of the imposter phenomenon and cultural differences on academic writing

Abstract This conceptual review seeks to reframe the view of academic integrity as something be enforced an skill that needs developed. The authors highlight how practices within academia create environment where feelings inadequacy thrive, leading behaviours unintentional misconduct. Importantly, this includes practical suggestions help educators and higher education institutions support doctoral students’ skills. In particular, importance explicit instruction, for development literacy skills, changes in supervisory encourage student supervisor reflexivity. Therefore, argues that, through use these strategies, can become a space culture flourish.
